This is the infamous wooden floor that Grandmaster often talks about. The slats were not fastened down or permanent, it was a collection of loose boards that could be easily moved when the dojang moved. Grandmaster remembers that it was uneven, full of splinters and nails, and prone to come apart while in use. He jokes about having to look carefully before jumping, spinning, or just taking a step.
