The highest flying side kick by William Fincher;
2nd Dan downtown student who began training in 1970. When he began
training, Mr. Fincher was employed as a lineman for Southwestern
Bell. During his training, he became a real estate salesman, then
a land developer. He was also a pilot and owned his own airplane,
which he used to show real estate in Belize. On the way back from
one trip to Belize in 1998, his plane developed engine problems
and he died in the resulting crash, which was widely reported in
the news media.
Mr. Fincher was a Vietnam War veteran and always dreamed of becoming
a United States Senator. He also had a deep commitment to humanitarian
aid. Whenever an earthquake struck in central America, he used his
airplane to transport relief supplies to the victims. Channel 13
and the Houston Chronicle covered his activities on many occasions.
